Our 10am English service is a contemporary and family-friendly service with elements of the Anglican prayer book included. We have a children’s program that runs at the same time for children from both English and Mandarin services. We have fellowship with one another each week at morning tea, and through the Lord’s Supper once a month.
Our 10am English gathering meets in the Auditorium. The main entrance is located on Church St. Underground parking is available (via Gowrie St), with direct access to the building via internal stairs or external lifts. Untimed street parking is available on the surrounding streets. There are dedicated ground-level disability parking spots in the external carpark on Church St between the Auditorium and the Historic Church.
We begin the service together and enjoy a song and a Family Spot, before the children head off to their preschool or primary school programs. There is a crying room for young bubs.
We enjoy contemporary songs and hymns combined with modern elements of Anglican liturgy.
We are intergenerational, multi-ethnic and aim to be accessible to people with different types of disabilities. We celebrate and cater for this diversity in how we run our services.
As you enter the Auditorium, our welcomers will greet you, provide you with a name tag and give you a bulletin handout. You can choose where you’d like to sit. If you’re early enough, you can enjoy watching the music team rehearse, or have a conversation with someone nearby. Children remain with their parents until the Family Spot in the service.
We begin with a song followed by a Family Spot. After this, parents take their children to the preschool or primary school program, while the rest of us greet each other. There will be time for announcements and prayer. We will read the Bible and have it explained to us. There is also an opportunity to respond and engage with the staff team through a feedback form. We celebrate the Lord’s Supper once a month.
We move to the hall next door to enjoy morning tea together with the 10am Mandarin congregation. Tea, coffee and light refreshments are provided. Children are picked up during morning tea. Our table tennis is a popular activity for young and old, and our couch corner is a comfortable space for group conversations.
For 4 weeks across the school holiday weeks, we’ll be exploring God’s relentless grace through the book of Jonah. Our student minister Cameron will be preaching the series. Everyone is welcome!
An underground car park with 40 car spaces (including 2 accessible spaces) has direct access to the Auditorium via the internal stairs or external lift. The carpark entry is on Gowrie St. There are also dedicated ground-level disability parking spots in the external carpark on Church St between the Auditorium and the Historic Church. Free untimed street parking surrounding the property is available on Sundays.
We start at 10am and finish around 11:15am. Morning tea in the hall continues after the service every week and you can stay for as long as you like.
There is no dress code so you are free to wear something comfortable.
There are moments of active participation in our service where we will stand and sing, read aloud liturgy or creeds or prayers, and take part in the Lord’s Supper. You are free to be as involved as you want.
We have a program for children of preschool age, as well as primary school age. We start off together as a church family in the service, before children are invited to join the programs. Check out our Children’s Ministry.
We welcome all types of babies at St Annes. We encourage parents with babies to remain in the main church gathering, even if your child is making noise. However, if privacy or a quiet space is needed, our Little Bubs Corner is a room in the back of the Auditorium where nursing mums can breastfeed and unsettled infants can have a breakout space.
